ITHACA, N.Y. - The Cabrini College volleyball team capped a successful weekend with a third place finish at the Ithaca College Bomber Invitational. The Cavaliers swept St. John Fisher and Baptist Bible College today to finish the weekend 3-1.
After splitting a pair of tough five set matches against Union College and Widener University on Friday, the Cavaliers were up to the task today.
The day opened with a 25-17, 25-15, 25-11 win over St. John Fisher. Senior

Jen Grenauer led a balanced offensive attack with 10 kills each.

Molly Fox also combined for 14 kills. Freshman setter

Sophia Sokolovich collected 12 digs.
By virtue of the morning victory, the Cavaliers qualified for the third place game against a familiar foe, the Baptist Bible College Defenders. Cabrini had won the last seven meeting between the teams, including three CSAC tournament matches.
Today's meeting was no different, as the Blue and White rolled to a 25-20, 25-13, 25-21 victory. Grenauer was again strong at the net, leading Cabrini with 12 kills.
Ryan and Fox combined for 18 kills. Sokolovich and junior
Kristy Riley accounted for 15 digs each, while Koenig added 39 assists.
Sokolovich was named to the all-tournament team after recording 74 digs and six services aces through the four matches.
Union College defeated Ithaca College 3-0 for the tournament title.
The Cavaliers will host their home opener on Thursday as they host Widener University at Nerney Field House. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
