RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini volleyball team extended its win streak to seven matches today as it topped Cairn University 3-0. The victory improved the Cavaliers to 4-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Their 14-3 overall record marks the best under head coach

The Blue and White jumped on top of the Highlanders early, as Cabrini used a series of runs to build its lead. Trailing 3-1, freshman
Kelly Guarino stepped to the service line and led the Cavaliers to an 8-0 run and they never looked back, taking the first set 25-12. Senior
Danielle Carrozza posted five kills in the opener, while fellow senior
Sophia Sokolovich added five digs.
The Blue and White turned up the pressure offensively and defensively in the second set. The Cavaliers recorded 10 kills and only one attack error in the set, while holding Cairn to just seven kills and 12 errors. Senior
Michele Fitz added four total blocks in the set, while Carrozza and sophomore
Cassidy Koenig scored five digs each as Cabrini earned a 25-8 second set victory.
The Highlanders finally found their footing in the final set, but the Cavaliers were too strong. Cairn posted nine kills against just two attack errors and three service aces in the third frame. The Blue and White was up to the challenge, boasting 17 kills and three service aces. The trio of Guarino, Fitz and Carrozza had four kills each, while sophomore Christina Ingargiola added two in the set.
Carrozza recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 13 kills and 10 digs. Sophomore
Jen Grenauer added eight kills, while Fitz paired eight kills with four blocks. Koenig posted 31 assists and Sokolovich added a match-high 13 digs.
Brigid Shehan led the highlanders (11-5, 1-1 CSAC) with six kills.
The Cavaliers will visit Hackettstown, N.J. on October 2 where they will match wits with Centenary College (0-11, 0-1 CSAC). First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
