Women's Soccer Chosen as Preseason CSAC Favorites

ASTON, Pa. – The coaches of the Colonial States Athletic Conference expect the Cabrini women's soccer team to continue its string of five consecutive titles, according the recently released conference preseason poll.

The league announced today that the Cavaliers have claimed 137 total votes, inclduing nine first place nods, to claim the top spot in the poll.  Gwynedd Mercy, Cabrini's opponent in the 2012 and 2015 CSAC championship games, finished second with 129 votes, including the remaining three first place votes.

Centenary, Narywood, and Rosemont round out the top five spots.

With four of his top five scorers graduating, head coach Ken Prothero will look to a trio of seniors to provide leadership both on and off the pitch as the Blue and White chases an unprecidented sixth consecutive conference title.

All-CSAC First Team honoree senior Jess Breuning will anchor a Blue and White defensive effort that allowed just five goals with nine shutouts in 13 matches against conference foes in 2015. Junior Taylor Tralie will look to improve on last year's 15 points, while senior Allie Vallen will play a major role in the Cavaliers' offensive attack.

The Cavaliers will open the 2016 campaign on Sept. 1 with a trip to Bryn Mawr College, before welcoming Eastern to Edith Robb Dixon Field on Sept. 7.
