Last Meeting: Cavs edge Giants for 2-1 victory
Senior Taylor Tralie put the Cavaliers on the board in the 21st minute with her third goal of the season, completing a play orchestrated by sophomore
Alex Garces.
Cabrini extended its lead in the 34th minute, as sophomore
Katelyn Gilinger matched Tralie with her third goal of the season. Fellow sophomore
Leticia Sales recorded the assist for her first collegiate point.
The Giants cut into Cabrini's lead in the final minutes of the first half, sending the Blue and White into the second half with a 2-1 advantage.
The Cavaliers turned up the defense after the break, holding Keystone to just one corner kick and one shot on goal in the second half, en route to the 2-1 final.
Cabrini Last Time Out: Cavs extend unbeaten streak to five with win over Notre Dame
Cabrini played excellent on both ends of the field as they recorded 35 shots and 23 on goal, while holding their opposition to just three shots and two on goal. The 23 shots on goal is a new season high for the Cavaliers as they eclipsed their previous mark of 19, which they recorded just over a week ago against Cedar Crest.
Cabrini put the pressure on from the start as the offense recorded four shots in the first 11 minutes, highlighted by sophomore
Payton Greene's first goal of the season. Classmate
Diana VanSickle was good for the assist, her first of the season as well.
Just 12 minutes later, freshman
Rachel Wood picked up her first goal of the season, and college career, as she headed a beautiful cross from classmate
Brittany Purdy to give the Cavs an added cushion.
Keystone Last Time Out: Late goals doom Giants in 3-1 loss to Centenary
Centenary University scored twice in the final 11 minutes of Wednesday night's Colonial States Athletic Conference women's soccer game at Keystone College to pull away with a 3-1 victory over the Giants.
Centenary needed just 37 seconds to take a 1-0 lead in Wednesday night's tilt, but Keystone responded in the 22
nd minute when junior Nisa Cortes scored her team-leading 10
th goal of the season, shielding off a defender and lacing a shot from 16 yards out into the top of the net after taking a feed from classmate Kristy Hansen to knot the game up at 1-1. Hansen's assist was her second helper of the fall.
The Cyclones claimed a 2-1 edge in the 80th minute, then put the game away in the 87th minute.
