What's at Stake
Saturday's winner will earn the title of 2017 CSAC Champion and claim the league's automatic bid to the 2017 NCAA Tournament.
Saturday will mark just the second meeting for Cabrini and Marywood in the CSAC Championship game and the 11th overall appearance for the Cavaliers. The last time the two teams met in the championship game came in 2009, where Marywood was once again the No. 1 seed, but fell victim to the Blue and White courtesy of an overtime goal in the 94th minute.
Last Meeting: Cavs hand Pacers only CSAC loss in 2-1 victory (9/30/17)
Pacers' junior Megan Swiecicki opened up the scoring in the 21st minute to give the hosts' the early 1-0 lead. Marywood's defense was swarming in the first half as they held the Cavs to just four shots in the first 45 minutes and carried their 1-0 lead into the intermission.
Senior goalie
Gabby LeGendre was equally as dominant in the first half for the Blue and White as the defending CSAC Player of the Year showed why as she kept the Cavs in it with nine saves in the opening stanza.
Second half adjustments paid dividends for Cabrini as they quickly struck pay dirt in the 54th minute thanks to sophomore
Katelyn Gilinger's second goal of the year to even things at one a piece.
With just five minutes left in regulation, senior
Taylor Tralie rocketed a ball off the cross bar from 35 yards out when rookie Aysiah Cintron rushed for the rebound and buried it in the side netting for the game winner.
Cabrini Last Time Out: Cavs end Cyclones' season with 2-1 victory in CSAC Semi (11/1/17)
Tralie picked up where she left off from the Cavs' quarterfinal win over Immaculata where she collected six points on two goals and two assists. Tralie netted both goals in today's contest to give her 10 points in her last two games and bring her season total to 36 points.
The senior opened up the scoring in the 28th minute off of a misplay by the Centenary keeper to give the Blue and White the early lead. The 1-0 score would hold steady into the intermission.
Centenary would draw even in the 47th minute, however thanks to a strike from sophomore Sam Bombardiere.
Tralie and the offense capitalized on the stellar play of their defense and picked up the game winning goal in the 51st minute to swing the momentum back in favor of the Cavaliers. Tralie's second goal of the game came with an assist from senior
Brittany Runyen and sophomore
Payton Greene and was launched from just outside the right corner of the 18 yard box.
Marywood Last Time Out: Pacers score 4-2 win over Gwynedd Mercy (11/1/17)
Junior Julie Youngman notched the first goal of the game just five minutes into the semifinal. After the ball slipped out of Gwynedd Mercy's keeper's hands, Youngman intercepted the ball, cut to her left and buried it home from five yards out.
Marywood would give up a corner kick in the 13th minute, and despite making a spectacular stop on a close range shot, junior keeper Aly Moyer gave up a rebound that Gwynedd Mercy poked home as Moyer could not corral the second shot before it crossed the goal line.
The Pacers quickly regained the lead as sophomore Jackie Vonitter found some dribbling room in the middle, carried the ball 15 yards and went to her right before ripping a shot back to the far post netting from 12 yards out. A late first half goal from junior Ashley Kruchinsky followed by Youngman's second goal of the game in the 61st minute would give the Pacers all they would need to coast to the 4-2 victory.
