Women's Basketball Looks to Stay Hot Against Widener

Last Meeting: Pride edge Cavaliers by 71-60 final (12/30/15)
Meghan Martin hit 8-9 from the free throw line and grabbed five rebounds en route to her second career 20 point outing.  Renee Oliver added 11 points, with six coming in the third quarter, while matching Martin's five boards. Junior Sabrina Hackendorn earned game high honors with 12 rebounds.

Both clubs battled back and forth in the second stanza, but with the Cavaliers holding a 24-22 lead with just under four minutes to play, Widener used a 10-0 run to gain a 32-24 lead with 57 seconds left in the half. A pair of late free throws extended the Pride's lead to 34-25 at the half.

Widener took control of the game in a pivotal four minute stretch to end the quarter, as it held Cabrini scoreless over the final four minutes, closing the stanza on an 8-0 run. The Pride then connected on 13-18 free throw attempts in the final 10 minutes to seal the win.

Cabrini Last Time Out: Big first half propels Cavs (1/13/18)
The Cabrini women's basketball team rolled to its' tenth consecutive victory on Saturday afternoon as they took down the Cedar Crest College Falcons by a 68-44 final. Cabrini used a dominant first half that featured crisp offense coupled with a suffocating defensive effort in the second half to propel themselves to a comfortable road victory.

Junior Gaby Jones paced the Cavalier offense with 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting, while adding five rebounds. Freshmen Lexi Edwards and Kate Lannon each finished with 10 points in 21 minutes to round out the Cavs in double figures. Sophomore Cassidy Gallagher added a team high four assists, while junior Nomi Washington led the way with three steals. 

Widener Last Time Out: Widener rolls Hood, 85-32 (1/13/18)
Junior Emily Hardy recorded her first double-double of the season and the Widener University women's basketball team had five players score in double figures as the Pride defeated the Hood College Blazers, 85-32, on Saturday afternoon in a MAC Commonwealth contest.

Hardy netted 12 points and led all players with a career-high 18 boards to earn her fourth career double-double. Sophomore Devan Rimmer and senior Allison Gallagher paced the Pride with 13 points each, respectively. 

As a team, Widener shot 44.8 percent from the line on 30-of-67 shots and matched a season-best of 81.8 percent from the line on 18-of-22 shots. The Pride held a 56-28 edge on rebounds while turning 19 of Hood's turnovers into 31 points.
