The Cabrini women's basketball team had its four year CSAC championship streak snapped last season as they fell to the Griffins of Gwynedd Mercy by a final score of 67-49 in the 2017 CSAC title game.
The Blue and White struggled offensively as they shot 26.1% from the field and just 16.7% in the fourth quarter.

The Blue and White, however hit just three field goals in the fourth quarter and struggled for, seemingly, the first time all season at the free throw line, connecting on 5-12 attempts. The Griffins took advantage of the Cav's struggles as they ended the game with a 12-3 run, making the final 67-49.

Cassidy Gallagherand freshman
Lexi Edwards each tallied eight points, while sophomore
Meghan Matthews finished with a game high eight boards and added seven points.
The Cavs used an 18-to-3 run across the entire third quarter to balloon their lead to 25 points and followed it up by allowing just eight points in the fourth quarter. All told, Cabrini allowed just 11 points, five field goals, and held the Cyclones to just 18.5% from the field in the second half. They outscored Centenary 30-to-11 in the final 20 minutes of play.
Gwynedd Mercy Last Time Out: Griffins travel to Palestra to take on division I Penn Quakers (1/28/18)
Gwynedd Mercy took on Division I Penn on Sunday afternoon at the historic Palestra but came out on the wrong end of an 89-25 defeat to the Quakers.
Freshman Shannon Carroll had six points with sophomore Denise Sacco adding five as points were at a premium. Gwynedd was held to nine field goals on the day.
The team was able to keep the Quakers within reach in the first. Down 4-0, a three from senior Larissa Leyes pulled the Griffins within one. After a Penn bucket on the next possession, the score remained just 6-3 for over four minutes. Penn's Eleah Parker's basket after the first media timeout started a 10-0 run to close out the quarter. Penn stretched their lead in the second and led 37-10 at the half.
The Quakers outscored the Griffins 34-6 in the fourth quarter, marking the 89-25 final.
