Pearson Honored Among Philadelphia's Greatest

PHILADELPHIA – On Saturday, women's basketball head coach was honored at the inaugural Philadelphia's Greatest Women Athletes and Coaches Awards Ceremony.

Pearson, who is entering her 10th season as Cabrini's head coach, has manned the Blue and White sidelines for 15 years. Under her leadership, the Cavaliers have amassed a 170-79 overall record with six Colonial States Athletic Conference championships.

Pearson has been named CSAC Coach of the Year three times, including in 2017-18 after leading the Blue and White to a 26-3 record, including a perfect 16-0 mark in conference play.

Along the way, the 2017-18 club entered the program and conference record book, as it reeled off 24 consecutive victories, including a 71-64 win over Neumann in the CSAC title game and a 65-52 triumph over Brooklyn in the first round of the 2018 NCAA Tournament, the program's second NCAA tournament win.

Among the honorees recognized on Saturday were former Cabrini student-athlete Fredia Gibbs (1984-87), three-time Olympic gold medalist, South Carolina head coach and Naismith Hall of Famer Dawn Staley and Rutgers head coach and Naismith Hall of Famer C. Vivian Stringer.
