Last Meeting: Cabrini 74, NYU 82 (3/3/19, Radnor, PA)
The Violets used a 32 point fourth quarter to cap a come-from-behind effort and claim the 2019 ECAC title.

NYU's Janean Cuffee scored a career high 39 points in the win, highlighted by a 13-15 effort from the charity stripe. Point Guard Annie Barrett added 10 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while Katie Foos netted 14 points, including three triples. Cuffee and Barrett were named to the All-Tournament team for their contributions.

The Blue and White were led by sophomore Ashley Tutzauer's 25 points, also a career high, highlighted by six three pointers. The guard finished the day an efficient 9-12 from the floor.

Senior Nomi Washington also landed on the All-Tournament team following her 16 point, seven rebound effort today. The veteran averaged 19.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, four steals and three assists per game for the Cavaliers across the tournament. Junior Meghan Matthews rounded out the Cavs in double figures with 12 points and added five boards and three helpers.

Cabrini fell behind early following a 19-10 first quarter in favor of the Violets and trailed by as many as 12 points early in the second stanza. A deep three from Tutzauer sparked a 12-4 run for the Cavs to cut the NYU lead to 28-24.

The Violets would respond with a short 6-0 run to push their lead back up to 10 points before a layup from sophomore Kate Lannon and another triple from Tutzauer trimmed the lead back to five. NYU would take a 38-30 lead into the break after a late layup from Cuffee.

Cabrini responded in a big way to open the third quarter as they ripped off a 9-0, capped by a shoulder jumper from sophomore Caitlin King, to take their first lead of the game. The quarter featured nine lead changes, none bigger than a Tutzauer three as time expired to put the Cavs back up 52-50 heading into the final stanza.

A jumper from Washington to open the quarter handed the Cavs their largest lead of the game at four point, but NYU quickly responded to even things at 58 all with 7:34 remaining. A layup from Cuffee and a triple from Foos highlighted a short NYU run as they retook the lead, 66-61, in the process.

The Blue and White would trim their deficit back down to just two points following a pair of free throws from Lannon with 2:35 to go, but that is as close as the Cavs would come as an ensuing 8-2 NYU run put the Violets up 78-70 with just 20 seconds remaining.

Cabrini Last Time Out: Cabrini 00, Elizabethtown 00 (11/24/19, Elizabethtown, PA)
Junior Kate Lannon paced the offense with 17 points on 7-14 from the field, while classmate Ashley Tutzauer capped the Cavaliers in double figures with 12 points and a team high six rebounds. Freshman Miranda Liebtag added eight points.

The Blue and White struggled to find their rhythm from the field early as they shot just 24 percent in the opening half, including a 1-10 mark from beyond the arc. The Blue Jays took advantage as they outscored the Cavs 20-9 in the first quarter.

The Cabrini defense turned up the pressure in the second quarter as they held Etown to just eight points, pulling to within eight points at the intermission. Back to back layups from Lannon and sophomore Kirsten Searcy highlighted the Cavs' quarter.

The hosts would respond coming out of the break, however as they rattled off a 10-3 run to regain control at 38-23. Despite the Cavs offense finding their groove in the second half, it proved to be too little, too late as the Blue Jays would hang on for the eventual 72-56 final.

NYU Last Time Out: NYU 98, Stevens 77 (11/17/19, New York, NY)
Stevens pulled within three midway through the second quarter, but the Violets extended their lead to six points, 43-37, at halftime.

NYU opened the second half with a 12-3 run and never led by less than double digits the rest of the way. The Violets' advantage grew to as many as 20 points in the third and they finished the quarter ahead 73-55.

Janean Cuffee led all scorers with 33 points. Her double-double also included 10 rebounds to go with six assists and two steals. Brooklyn Shelton scored 22 points, connecting on 9-of-12 shots from the field and on all four of her free throws. She added seven rebounds, three assists and a steal.

Annie Barrett contributed 12 rebounds, eight assists and four steals, while Katie Foos finished with 12 points.
