Last Meeting: Cabrini 1, Widener 1 (8/30/13, Radnor, PA)
The Cavaliers and Pride last faced off in August of 2013 and played to a 1-1 draw despite two overtime periods.
The Blue and White held an 11-6 advantage in shots, including the only two shots in both overtime periods. The two teams combined for only five shots on frame with the Cavs holding the edge at 3-2.
Meghan Martin opened the scoring for the Cavs after taking a pass from Jessica Breuning in the 39th minute. The 1-0 advantage would hold through the intermission until Julia Flower evened the score in the 65th minute with an unassisted tally.
Cabrini Last Time Out: Cabrini 3, Notre Dame of Maryland 1 (9/21/19, Baltimore, MD)
The Blue and White attack overpowered the hosts en route to a season best 23-2 advantage in shots, including a 15-1 advantage in shots on goal, while also claiming an impressive 19 corners.
Senior
Diana VanSickle paced the Cavalier offense with four shots and her third goal of the season, while junior
Maria Hagan tallied the Cavs' first goal of the evening. Hagan, along with classmate Alex Garces and senior
Katelyn Gilinger recorded three shots each.
As mentioned, Hagan opened the scoring quickly for the Cavs thanks to a strike in just the second minute of action. The 1-0 advantage would stick into the 20th minute until an own goal on the Gators doubled Cabrini's lead.
Notre Dame managed to cut their deficit in half shortly following the intermission thanks to a deep shot that sailed just over the head of junior netminder
Ashley Tutzauer.
The Cavs would eventually push their lead back to two after senior
Marissa Portelli delivered a perfect corner in the box for VanSickle. The Veteran high pointed the ball and connected for the header in the 79th minute.
Widener Last Time Out: Widener 6, Goucher 0 (9/21/19, Chester, PA)
Three goals from the Pride's Isabella Hill helped lead the Widener University women's soccer team to a 6-0 victory over the Goucher College Gophers on Saturday night.
Hill's performance marked the first hat-trick for a Widener player since September 13, 2017.
The match was even at zero for 24 minutes before Hill got WU on the board. Melissa Koch sent a cross from the right side that managed to find its way to Hill who buried it for the first goal of the game. Nearly six minutes later, Hill capitalized on a rebounded shot, quickly doubling the lead. Widener went into the half up two.
A four goal second half propelled the Pride to the eventual 6-0 final and secured their sixth victory of the season in the process.
