The Cavs were led offensively by junior
Ashley Tutzauer's career high 31 points. The guard added six rebounds, three assists and two blocks to round out her performance. Senior
Meghan Matthews posted her third double double of the season thanks to 20 points and and a game high 11 rebounds, while juniors
Lexi Edwards and
Kate Lannon added 19 and 14 points, respectively. Freshman
Miranda Liebtag rounded out the Cavaliers in double figures with 10 points.
Cabrini seized control in the early going as they jumped out to a 26-11 lead midway through the first quarter. The Griffins answered with a 12-4 run to trim the Cavs' lead to seven heading into the second quarter.
The hosts carried their first quarter momentum into the ensuing frame as they outscored the Blue and White 28-17 in the second stanza. Gwynedd highlighted the quarter with an 18-5 run that spanned nearly five minutes of play, while their defense came alive to force five Cabrini turnovers.
Following a back and fourth third quarter that ended with the Griffins extending their lead to five points at 81-76, the Blue and White rallied in the clutch as they ultimately outscored Gwynedd 31-7.
A pair of free throws from Matthews kicked off the pivotal fourth quarter, while Tutzauer delivered the equalizer just 20 seconds later with a three pointer to knot things at 81 all. An Edwards' layup on the ensuing Cavalier possession handed the Cavs a lead they would not relinquish. They would push their lead to 11 points before a triple from Gwynedd's Denise Sacco stopped the bleeding with 6:38 left in the game.
Cabrini would go on to outscore the Griffins 15-4 over the final six minutes en route to the aforementioned 107-88 final.
Cabrini Last Time Out: Immaculata 61, Cabrini 58 (2/22/2020, Radnor, PA)

Meghan Matthews rounded out the Cavs in double figures with 11 points, while adding a team high seven rebounds and three steals. Freshman
Miranda Liebtag chipped in seven points in 14 minutes, while senior
Cassidy Gallagher and junior
Kate Lannon added six points each.
With the Mighty Macs claiming a 4-2 lead three and a half minutes in to the game, the Cavs used a 14-3 run to seize control in the opening stanza. A three ball from Tutzauer sparked the run for Cabrini, while triples from Liebtag and Gallagher highlighted the spurt. Immaculata's Morgan Falcone delivered a clutch three as time expired to pull the visitors back to within six, as the Cavs closed the quarter leading 16-10.
The Blue and White exteneded their lead to 25-16 with just over five minutes left in the first half, courtesy of another three pointer from Gallagher, this time off an assist from Liebtag. The Mighty Macs would find their rhythm, however as they closed the quarter on an 8-2 run to pull to within three points at 27-24.
A back and forth third quarter gave way to a decisive final stanza with Cabrini clinging to a 45-42 lead with 9:26 to play. Following a pair of converted free throws from Immaculata's Meghan Ricker, the Cavs rattled off an 8-0 run, highlighted by an and-one layup from Matthews , to push their lead to nine points with just over five minutes left.
The two teams traded baskets as the Cavs' lead held steady at nine points with 3:20 remaining in the game. A layup on the ensuing possession from the Mighty Macs' Kaitlyn Racobaldo, however ignited a 15-3 run, that would ultimately serve as the game clincher for the visitors.
Gwynedd Mercy Last Time Out: Gwynedd Mercy 97, Neumann 81 (2/8/2020, Gwynedd Valley, PA)
Gwynedd Mercy shook off a slow start to get past Neumann, 97-81, in a quarterfinal game of the Atlantic East Women's Basketball Tournament Monday night.
Tamia Wessels poured in 20 points for the home team who also got 13 points each from Sydney Thompson and Haley Crossley. Elise Sylvester also hit double figures, totaling 11 on the night.
Gwynedd trailed 21-16 after the first quarter and as much as 11 in the second. That's when GMercyU went on a 21-7 run to close out the half. A late bucket from Thompson gave the Griffins a 41-38 lead at the break. The team was able to stretch their lead to double digits as a jumper in the paint from Thompson made it 57-46 at the 5:17 mark of the third.
Hunt's three-point play capped a 7-0 spurt by Neumann to begin the fourth pulling the Knights to 71-63 early in the fourth. Gwynedd used consecutive steals in the backcourt to score six-straight to put the lead back up to double figures.
Hunt again tried to give it one last push for the Knights, as her three with five minutes to play pulled Neumann to an 83-70 score. However, Gwynedd took control of the game courtesy of back-to-back-to-back threes from
Carley Huggard and Sylvester to help put the Griffins in front for good.
