RADNOR, PA - The Cavaliers will kick off the quarterfinal round of the 2020 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament on Friday, March 6th when they welcome the winner Wednesday's play in game between No. 8 seeded Westminster College and No. 9 PSU-Behrend to Nerney Field House at 12pm.
In total, four quarterfinal games will be played on Friday, followed by two semifinal games on Saturday, March 7th and concluding with the championship game on Sunday, March 8th. An updated tournament schedule and preview is outlined below.
Quarterfinals - Friday, March 6 at Cabrini University
QF #1: Westminster or PSU-Behrend vs Cabrini University – 12pm
QF #2: Stevenson University vs Hunter College - 2:30 pm

No. 1 Cabrini University Cavaliers (19-8, 10-2 AEC)
The Cavaliers enter the ECAC tournament after a 19-8 regular season finish, highlighted by an impressive 10-2 record in conference play. The Cavs claimed four victories over eventual NCAA tournament teams in New York University, Brooklyn College, DeSales University and Marymount University.
Cabrini is led offensively by a duo of All-Conference First Team performers in senior
Meghan Matthews and junior
Ashley Tutzauer. Tutzauer and Matthews finished first and second on the team in scoring, respectively, averaging 15.0 and 12.6 points per game. Matthews is one of just two players in the AEC to finish in the top 10 in scoring, rebounding, assists and blocks.
The Cavs will take on Westminster College in the tournament's first game at noon on Friday.
No. 2 Misericordia University Cougars (20-6, 10-4 MAC Freedom)
The Cougars finished their 2019-20 season with a strong 20-6 overall record, highlighted by a 10-4 mark in league play. Of their six losses, three came against ranked opponents as they fell 75-57 to No. 2 ranked University of Scranton, while dropping both matchups against the No. 10 ranked DeSales University Bulldogs.
Misericordia is paced offensively by Tessa Zamolyi's 16.2 points per game. The junior is averaging a double double on the year with 10.5 rebounds per game. Jordan Barth rounds out the Cougars averaging double figures with 11.6 points per game.
Misericordia will open their ECAC tournament against No. 7 Drew University on Friday at 7:30pm.
No. 3 RPI Engineers (17-10, 12-6 Liberty League)
RPI capped their season with an overtime loss to Liberty League foe Ithaca College in the conference semifinal by way of a 74-66 final.
They boast a strong 9-2 mark at home, but finished just 8-8 in road contests contributing to their 17-10 overall record.
The Engineers are led by the duo of Sam Krumbhaar and Celia Tomlinson who average 15.8 and 15.1 points per game, respectively. Tomlinson also leads her squad in rebounding with 11.4 per game, while tallying an impressive 62 blocks in 26 games.
RPI will square off with No. 6 Gwynedd Mercy in their quarterfinal matchup. Tip off is slated for 5pm.
No. 4 Stevenson University Mustangs (14-13, 8-8 MAC Commonwealth)
The Mustangs enter the ECAC tournament with a 14-13 overall record and 8-8 conference record. Key victories for Stevenson include Widener and Albright, both of which found themselves in the NCAA tournament.
The Green and Black feature a balanced offensive attack as three players average north of 10 points per game, led by Brandi Hall. Hall averages 11.4 point per contest and leads the Mustangs in shooting, as she's connected on 40.5 percent of her field goal attempts.
Stevenson will face No. 5 Hunter College in Friday's second game, beginning at 2:30pm.
No. 5 Hunter College Hawks (16-11, 11-3 CUNYAC)
The Hawks put together a 16-11 season, highlighted by an impressive 11-3 mark against CUNYAC competition. They would close out their conference tournament run as CUNYAC Runner-Up after falling in the championship game to Brooklyn College by a 62-57 final.
As a team, Hunter has excelled at protecting the ball, while forcing their opponents into turnovers. The Hawks average just 14.5 turnovers per game, while forcing 20.8 per contest.
Janine Conway has proven to be the key cog in the Hawks offense as the senior averaged 18 points per game, while shooting a team best 42.3 percent from the field. Maya Thompson leads Hunter with 6.3 rebounds per game with no other Hawk averaging north of five rebounds per game.
Hunter will face No. 4 seeded Stevenson University at 2:30pm in Friday's quarterfinal round.
No. 6 Gwynedd Mercy University Griffins (15-12, 8-4 AEC)
A familiar foe for the Cavaliers, Gwynedd finished its season with a 15-12 overall record and an 8-4 mark in league play.
The Griffins boast a high scoring offense predicated on quick shots and a great deal of possessions. They average 89.2 points per game and have gone over the century mark eight times, highlighted by a season high 115 point effort against Wesley College.
Despite the Griffins robust scoring totals, no player averages more than 11 points per game. Sydney Thompson leads the squad with 10.9 points, followed closely by Tamia Wessels' 10.8 points per game.
Gwynedd Mercy will tip off against No. 3 seeded RPI at 5pm.
No. 7 Drew University Rangers (16-9, 7-7 Landmark)
The Rangers enter the ECAC tournament with a 16-9 overall record and a 7-7 mark in Landmark Conference play.
Offensively, Drew is averaging 70.1 points per game, while allowing just 59.5 points. The trio of Julia Ramos, Joey Meyers and Erin Frederick lead the Rangers with 13.8, 13.6, and 13.5 points per game, respectively.
Sekya Campbell leads the squad with 7.6 rebounds per game, while Cecelia Kracht has averaged nearly three blocks per contest at 2.8 per game.
Drew will face No. 2 Misericordia University in Friday's night cap, beginning at 7:30pm.
No. 9 Penn State-Behrend Lions (17-10, 13-7 AMCC)
The Lions earned their way to ECAC quarterfinal after topping No. 8 seeded Westminster College on Wednesday afternoon by a 69-61 final.
Offensively, the Lions are led by Caitlin Carnuche and Alanna Dibble. The duo averages a combined 27.1 points per game, accounting for nearly 40 percent of Behrend's scoring, while also pulling in 7.7 and 8.0 rebounds, respectively.
The Lions also boast a pair of guards that average north of three helpers per game in Kara Haslett and Kourtney Beamesderfer.
Behrend will now turn their attention to the top seeded Cavaliers as they open the quarterfinal round at 12pm.
