RADNOR, Pa. – After a four-day layoff, the Cabrini University women's volleyball team will begin its run in the 2022 Atlantic East Championships, as the top-seeded Cavaliers will host fourth-seeded Marywood University on Thursday at 7 p.m.
The winner of Thursday's match will take on the winner of the other semifinal – Neumann at Marymount – on Saturday for the Atlantic East crown.
Cabrini (19-11) went a perfect 6-0 in Atlantic East action, including a 3-0 win over Marywood back on October 8 in the Electric City. Marywood (14-15) needed five sets on Tuesday night to advance past Gwynedd Mercy in the quarterfinals.
Cabrini is led by graduate outside hitter Hannah Dalton who had 429 kills on the season, with 275 digs as well which is second best on the squad. Graduate libero Gina Custer has 571 digs, including crossing the 2,000 dig plateau in her career this season. Senior setter Melanie Cotes-Rivera has 344 assists, with junior Lilyanna Baynum having 54 blocks.
Marywood is led by senior outside hitter Shannon Corr who has 246 kills and 283 digs. Graduate libero Donna Bostjancic has a team-best 300 digs. Sophomore setter Mikayla Meek has 494 assists, while junior middle hitter Casey Hagerstrom has netted 69 blocks.
