ASTON, Pa. – The Cabrini field hockey team suffered a 3-2 loss at Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponent Neumann University Saturday. Junior back Allie Rodolico and sophomore forward Lauren Alessi provided the Cavaliers' offense.
The Knights sprinted to a three-goal advantage, 3-0, less than four minutes into the second half. Megan Mazur provided Neumann's first score at the 6:01 mark. Lauren Hood's back-to-back goals at the 13:21 and 39:42 marks pushed the Knights' cushion to three goals.
Rodolico sparked the rally in the 47th minute, scoring her third goal of the season and third in the last two games. Alessi added Cabrini's second tally and her seventh of the season in the 53rd minute.
However, the Knights held the Cavaliers scoreless for the remaining 17 minutes. Neumann goalkeeper Maggie Carpenter tallied five saves in the victory.
Cabrini goalkeeper Caitlin Donahue notched 12 saves in the loss.
Cabrini (6-9, 5-2) breaks from its CSAC schedule for a meeting at the College of New Jersey Thursday, October 22 at 7:30 p.m.
