IMMACULATA, Pa. –
The Cabrini field hockey team remains unbeaten in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) competition after a 1-0 win at Immaculata University Saturday afternoon. Junior goalkeeper Caitlin Donahue returned from injury to stop nine shots for her sixth career shutout.

Donahue was back in the Cavaliers' lineup Saturday following a nine-game lay-off due to a knee injury suffered during the season's first game against Rowan University September 1. In her only other start this year, Donahue notched 26 saves in a 4-0 loss versus the Profs.

Sophomore forward Lauren Alessi's fifth goal of the season was all the Blue & White needed for the win. Alessi put the Cavaliers ahead in the 17th minute. Freshman midfielder Colleen Anastasi recorded her first career point and assist on the score.

The Immaculata offense posted 13 shots against nine from Cabrini. Katherine Becker and Maureen Town each posted four shots to lead the Mighty Macs' offense.

Junior forward Regina Bucher totaled three shots for the Cavaliers in the win. Alessi and sophomore midfielder Maura Gordon, the CSAC leader in shots entering the weekend, each tallied two.

Immaculata goalkeeper Britt Worthington notched three saves in the loss.

The win is the Blue & White's 13th in the last 14 games against CSAC opponents. The Cavaliers finished the 2008 regular season with an unbeaten 9-0 conference record.

Cabrini (4-7, 3-0) continues its CSAC regular season schedule at Keystone College Wednesday, October 7 at 3:30 p.m. The game will be played at Riverfront Sports in Scranton, Pa.
