RADNOR, Pa. –
For the second straight season, the Cabrini field hockey team is advancing in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Tournament following a dramatic strokes victory at the expense of Marywood University. Sophomore midfielder Maura Gordon's goal in the fourth round of attempts sealed the 1-0 victory.

Junior goalkeeper Caitlin Donahue tallied 12 saves in 100 minutes of action and tacked on one more for good measure, stopping Marywood senior Kari Eiklor's attempt in the fifth round of strokes and propelling the Cavaliers to the CSAC Semifinal round.

Cabrini out-shot the Pacers 24-13 and owned a 10-6 advantage in penalty corners. Gordon and freshman forward Lindsey Atzert led the Cavaliers' attack, each recording four shots.

After 70 minutes of regulation and 30 minutes of overtime did not resolve the 0-0 tie, the Blue & White found itself in its first shootout of the season. The Cavaliers and Pacers traded missed attempts for three rounds until Gordon deposited the game-winning tally in the fourth.

Marywood freshman goalkeeper Jamie Bowman notched 17 saves in the loss.

Cabrini's (9-10) quest for its first CSAC title in program history continues on the road Wednesday, November 4 versus top-seeded Keystone College. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
