RADNOR, Pa. –
The No. 7 Cabrini men's lacrosse team scored 13 second half goals en route to a come-from-behind 18-11 victory against Hampden-Sydney College Saturday at Edith Robb Dixon Field. Junior attackman Casey Grugan totaled a team-high eight points in the win.

Grugan deposited three goals and tallied five assists, extending his consecutive points streak to 43 games. He moves into fifth-place all-time with 169 career points on 103 goals and 66 assists, surpassing former Cavalier Mike Friel (1995-98).

Senior attackman Scott Reimer continues his climb to the 200-point plateau, posting four points on four goals against the Tigers. Reimer lists third all-time with 196 points on a program-record 176 goals and 20 helpers.

Sophomore attackman Jordan Coeyman earned his first start of the season and paired three goals with one assist. Senior midfielder Christian Burrows added a hat trick.

Freshman attackman Brian Hill collected two points on two goals. Senior midfielders Pat Grenier and B.J. Kletcheck each notched two points on one score and one assist.

Senior defenseman Jeff Moore scooped 13 groundballs, benefitting from the Cavaliers' control of the face-off circle. Moore has recorded 174 career groundballs and is just four shy of surpassing former Cavalier Matthew Grosse (2003-06) for the program all-time record.

Senior face-off specialist Mike Dolente registered 19-of-27 draw victories at the X and five groundballs. Dolente has won 64-of-89 face-offs through five games this season, yielding a staggering 71.9 win percentage.

Heading into Saturday's game, the Cavaliers had converted just 5-of-19 man-up opportunities this season. Against the Tigers, Cabrini buried six goals in seven extra-man chances, including a perfect 4-for-4 performance in the fourth quarter.

The Cavaliers jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead following scores from senior midfielder Matt Conaway and Burrows in the opening seven minutes. Cabrini owned a 4-3 lead at the end of the first quarter following Burrows' second goal of the game and Coeyman's first.

Hampden-Sydney answered with a three-goal second period and took a 6-5 advantage into the intermission. The Tigers closed the stanza on a 3-0 run after Kletcheck found the back of the cage at the 10:30 mark.

Trailing at halftime for the second straight game, the Cavaliers blitzed HSC in the third quarter, scoring six of the period's seven goals and securing an 11-7 cushion heading into the fourth.

Cabrini took its final lead of the game on a bizarre moment at the onset of the third quarter. HSC junior Frankie McGuire corralled a groundball off a draw, but his retreat pass to goalkeeper Mark Bagby found the back of the Tigers' cage.

Reimer opened the scoring in the fourth period with his third goal of the game, an unassisted man-up marker at the 12:26 mark. After senior Andrew Mahoney pulled the Tigers to within four, 12-8, the Cavaliers ripped off a 6-1 run, sparked by an extra-man goal from Hill with 9:15 remaining.

Cabrini pushed its lead to 16-9 with just under seven minutes on the clock following back-to-back man-down scores from Grenier and Grugan. Grenier found himself alone on the HSC doorstep off a feed from Grugan at the top of the box. Grugan ripped a shot past Bagby off a feed from Coeyman.

Mahoney led the Tigers' offense with six points on five goals and one assist. Sophomore midfielder Cole Hawthorne tallied three goals.

Bagby faced 33 shots on goal from the Cavaliers, posting 15 saves. Cabrini senior goalkeeper Kevin Chenoweth made his fifth straight start and totaled five saves.

The win improves the Blue & White's record to 20-3 all-time at Edith Robb Dixon Field and to a perfect 3-0 against Hampden-Sydney.

Cabrini (4-1) faces a tall task this week against two nationally-ranked opponents, starting with a road game versus No. 11 Gettysburg College Wednesday, March 18 at 3:30 p.m. The Cavaliers host No. 5 Roanoke Saturday, March 21 at 1 p.m.
