RADNOR, Pa. - The No. 17 Cabrini men's lacrosse team concludes a season-long three-game road swing Saturday, April 4 against non-conference opponent Drew University. Face-off against the Rangers is set for 2:30 p.m.
The Cavaliers are riding a three-game win streak in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play, out-scoring their opponents 64-15 during the stretch. Cabrini extended its conference win streak to 83 games, including the postseason, with a 25-4 win at Immaculata University April 1.
Ninth-year head coach
Steve Colfer has steered the Blue & White to a perfect 68-0 record versus CSAC competition during the regular season dating back to his inaugural Cabrini season in 2001.
Junior attackman
Casey Grugan, the reigning
Inside Lacrosse National Player of the Week, totaled six points on three goals and three assists against the Mighty Macs, extending the nation's second-longest consecutive points streak to 48 games.
Grugan is two points shy of becoming just the third Cabrini men's lacrosse player all-time to reach the 200-point plateau, joining Athletic Hall of Fame honoree Tom Lemieux (99-02) and teammate
Scott Reimer. Also, with three helpers against IU, he ranks third all-time with 82 assists for his career.
Reimer posted five points on five goals against Immaculata. He is 20 points shy of matching Lemieux's all-time program record and his 192 career goals is the top mark in the Cavaliers' program history.
Sophomore midfielder
Jordan Coeyman led 11 Cabrini reserves with at least one point, recording three on three goals versus Immaculata. Senior midfielder
B.J. Kletcheck also came off the bench to collected two points on two markers.
Senior midfielder
Matt Conaway claimed two points on one goal and one assist against IU. Conaway improved his career point total to 101, becoming the 14th player in program history to record at least 100 points in his career.
Cabrini's 25-goal output is a season-high and the nation's fourth-highest total by a single team this season. The Cavaliers have reached the 25-goal plateau three times since the 1995 season, including last year's 25-3 win against Eastern University in the conference final.
Drew University
After opening the season with three straight losses, the Rangers welcome Cabrini on a five-game win streak, including the last three victories by an average of just under 2.0 goals per game.
