RADNOR, Pa. –
Albright junior forward Gia Boscola's goal with 56 seconds remaining in the second half pushed the Lions past the Cabrini field hockey team Thursday afternoon at Edith Robb Dixon Field. Junior forward Desiree Umosella and sophomore forward Lauren Alessi each scored their third goal of the season in the loss.

Umosella handed the Cavaliers a 1-0 advantage in the 22nd minute, converting a pass from junior midfielder Shannon Mulhern from 15-yards out.

The Lions evened the scoring before halftime after sophomore forward Rose Casesi scored on a scramble in front of the Cabrini cage. Sophomore forward Caitlin Feldman was credited with the first of her three assists on the afternoon.

The Blue & White regained a one-goal cushion, 2-1, on Alessi's marker at the 39:22 mark. Senior midfielder Lynda Kaufmann's long pass found Alessi just inside the circle before beating Albright goalkeeper Kaitlyn Johnstone for the go-ahead tally.

However, Albright responded again with the equalizer, tying the contest less than four minutes following. Feldman's cross into the circle was one-timed past Cabrini cageminder Vicky King at the 43:18 mark.

The pace played back-and-forth for the ensuing 25-plus minutes with each team failing to take advantage of scoring opportunities. King twice stopped the Lions on the doorstep and Cabrini sophomore forward Stephanie Campanaro narrowly missed wide left on a fast-break.

With under two minutes remaining, the Cavaliers controlled possession inside the Albright circle. The Lions held off the push and on the counter-attack created an odd-man break. Feldman carried the ball down the right sideline before feeding Boscola for the score.

King tallied seven saves for the Blue & White in the loss. Johnstone made two saves for the Lions.

Cabrini (1-6) returns to the road Saturday, September against Misericordia University at 12 p.m.
