Neary Captures Career Win No. 150, Field Hockey Thumps Cedar Crest College, 5-0

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -
The Cabrini field hockey team claimed its third straight victory against a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponent, blanking Cedar Crest College, 5-0, on the road on Wednesday afternoon. Head coach Jackie Neary, in her 15th season with the Cavaliers, earned career win No. 150 with the victory.

The Cavaliers' offense produced five goals in the second half on five different goal-scorers. Junior midfielder Maura Gordon ignited the spurt with her seventh tally of the season in the 40th minute.

Junior midfielder Shannon Mulhern pushed the Cabrini lead to two goals, 2-0, with her second goal of the season at the 49:53 mark. Sophomore Taylor McGarvey also deposited second goal of the season less than one minute following, off a feed from junior forward Stephanie Campanaro, extending the Cavaliers' advantage to 3-0.

Junior forward Lauren Alessi matched Gordon with her seventh goal in 2010, handing the Blue & White a 4-0 cushion in the 56th minute. Freshman midfielder Claire Disdier's first career marker ballooned the Cabrini lead to 5-0 with less than eight minutes remaining.

Senior goalkeeper Caitlin Donahue notched her 38th career victory with four saves in just under 60 minutes played. Sophomore cageminder Vicky King lasted the remainder and posted one stop.

Cedar Crest goalkeeper Lindsay Harrison totaled 12 saves in the loss. The Cabrini offense out-shot the Falcons for the game, 37-9.

Neary, also the Cabrini women's lacrosse head coach, has led the Cavalier field hockey program to 14 consecutive appearances in the conference semifinal round. The Blue & White captured its first conference title in program history in 2009. Neary was named the CSAC Coach of the Year in 2008.

Cabrini (7-5, 4-1) resumes its CSAC regular season schedule on Saturday, Oct. 16 at home against Gwynedd-Mercy College. Game time against the Griffins is set for 11 a.m.
