RADNOR, Pa. –
The No. 1 seed Cabrini field hockey team will play for the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) crown for the third straight season after an emphatic 4-0 win versus No. 5 seed Immaculata University on Wednesday afternoon at Edith Robb Dixon Field. Junior forward Lauren Alessi scored two goals and junior forward Stephanie Campanaro offered three assists for the Cavaliers in the victory.

The Cavaliers jumped out to a 1-0 lead less than 10 minutes following the opening whistle when sophomore forward Lindsey Atzert re-directed a feed into the arc from Campanaro at the 9:13 mark.

Cabrini pushed its lead to two goals, 2-0, just over four minutes later with Campanaro's second assist of the contest. Her shot through traffic and across the arc was deflected home by Alessi.

The Cavaliers' cushion ballooned to 3-0 in the 23rd minute after junior midfielder Maura Gordon tipped a shot from Campanaro at the top of the circle over Immaculata junior goalkeeper Brittany Worthington's head.

Alessi added the contest's final score in the 41st minute, corralling a loose ball in front of an open Immaculata cage.

Cabrini out-shot the Mighty Macs for the game overall, 17-7. Alessi and Gordon led the Cavaliers' charge with four shot attempts each.

Senior goalkeeper Caitlin Donahue, named the CSAC Player of the Year last week, recorded four saves for her third shutout of the season and the 12th of her career.

Worthington totaled nine saves for the Mighty Macs in the loss.

The win advances the Cavaliers to the doorstep of the NCAA Tournament for the third straight season and avenges a 1-0 loss at the hands of Immaculata earlier this season on Sept. 21.

Cabrini (11-7) will host the CSAC Final on Saturday, Nov. 6 at Edith Robb Dixon Field. Opponent and game time are to be determined.
