CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Cabrini men and women's track & field teams returned to the outdoor oval on Saturday and Sunday at the Collegiate Track Conference (CTC) Championship hosted by DeSales University. Sophomore Quiana Volney and freshman Nadia Hernandez each posted top 10 performances.
Volney finished fifth out of 22 runners in the 800m run, clocking an outdoor-best time of 2:27.08. She also placed 14th in the 400m dash (1:06.15). Hernandez listed sixth in a field of 16 competitors in the 400m hurdles, posting a time of 1:10.23.
Junior Diane Gapinski also competed for the Cavalier women, finishing 18th in the 5000m run with a time of 21:21.48. The Cabrini women's team finished 15th out of 17 squads.
On the men's side, freshman Tyler Rooke placed 15th in the 1500m run. Rooke crossed the tape in 4:25.09.
Rookie Jaiquann Beckham led three Cavaliers in the 800m run, listing 17th with a time of 2:05.05. Junior David Stone (2:20.20) and freshman Tim Sayles (2:21.88) finished 29th and 30th, respectively.
The Blue & White men's team did not place in the team standings.
The Cabrini men and women's track & field teams are back in action this week in the historic Penn Relays at Franklin Field. The Penn Relays will be held April 20 – 23.
