Field Hockey Suffers 3-1 Loss at No. 20 Gettysburg College

GETTYSBURG, Pa. –
The Cabrini field hockey team suffered a 3-1 loss on the road on Saturday afternoon at Centennial Conference opponent No. 20 Gettysburg College. Sophomore midfielder Colleen Anastasi scored her first goal of the 2010 season in the loss for the Cavaliers.

The Bullets opened the scoring at the 29:00 mark when junior midfielder Martha Tahsler converted a pass at the top of the circle from senior back Alyssa Heimbach. Heimbach provided Gettysburg with a two-goal lead, 2-0, in the 58th minute off a feed from sophomore forward Katie Savage.

Anastasi pulled the Blue & White to within one score less than three minutes later at the 60:14 mark. Anastasi deposited a rebound in front of Bullets' cage following a shot from sophomore back Rita McKeown.

However, Gettysburg answered 56 seconds following and pushed its lead back to two goals, 2-0, with less than nine minutes remaining. Junior forward Sarah Cole provided the unassisted insurance tally for the hosts.

Defensively, senior goalkeeper Caitlin Donahue recorded 13 saves for the Cavaliers in the loss. Freshman back Samantha LaMaina was credited with a defensive save.

Feeg needed just three saves for the Bullets in the win.

Cabrini (1-2) makes its home debut at Edith Robb Dixon Field on Tuesday, Sept. 14 versus Delaware Valley College. Game time against the Aggies is set for 6:30 p.m.
