RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini volleyball team claimed its 15th straight win against a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponent on Saturday afternoon, knocking off Baptist Bible College, 3-1, at Nerney Field House. Freshman Alaina Clark paired 38 assists with 11 digs for her third straight double-double and seventh of the season overall.
Sophomore outside hitter Megan Ryan ignited the Cavaliers' offense, matching a season-high with 13 kills on 27 attempts. Freshman middle hitter Michele Fitz buried a career-best nine kills.
Senior middle hitter Stephanie Recklau and freshman outside hitter Sophia Sokolovich each posted seven kills.
Junior libero Courtney Abel recorded a team-best 26 digs. Sokolovich complemented Abel's efforts on the backline, notching 24 digs.
The Blue & White jumped out to a 2-0 match advantage with a 25-21 victory in game one and a 25-17 win in the second set. However, the Defenders pulled within one, 2-1, controlling the third frame en route to a 25-22 triumph.
The Cavaliers clinched their 10th victory of the season, and the 75th for fourth-year head coach Eric Schaefer, with a convincing 25-15 win the fourth stanza.
Senior outside hitter Marlie Kniefel led the Baptist Bible offense with 19 kills. Sophomore setter Katelin Broughton dished 34 assists.
Cabrini (10-4, 2-0) continues its CSAC regular season slate at home against Cedar Crest College on Tuesday, Sept. 28. Match time with the Falcons is set for 7 p.m.
