GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Cabrini College field hockey team had their three game winning streak snapped today as the Cavaliers lost 5-1 at Gwynedd-Mercy College. Cabrini falls to 4-4 overall and 2-1 in the CSAC.
The Cavaliers found themselves fighting an uphill battle in the first minute as GMC wasted little time notching the score sheet. Cabrini kept their deficit at one through the rest of the first half, maintaining an opportunity to come back after the break.
Unfortunately, GMC added three more goals in the first 17 minutes of the second half, leaving Cabrini looking at a 4-0 deficit.
Freshman
Karlie Gruccio scored her third goal of the season for Cabrini in the 55th minute.
The Cavaliers will host its second annual “Play 4 the Cure” game on Tuesday when they welcome Wilkes University to Edith Robb Dixon Field. Cabrini will join hundreds of field hockey teams across the country raising money and awareness for the fight against breast cancer. The game is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
