SCRANTON, Pa. –
The Cabrini College field hockey team rebounded from Thursday's road loss to defeat Marywood University 6-2.  The Cavaliers close their Colonial States Athletic Conference schedule with a 6-1 mark.

The Blue and White wasted little time lighting the scoreboard.  Less than two minutes into the game, senior Maura Gordon found fellow senior Lauren Alessi for the first of her three goals on the day.  Alessi's second came less than 90 seconds later when junior Katie Savage found her for the goal.

Junior Lindsey Atzert tallied her 12th goal of the season in the 12th minute from another Savage assist.  Alessi completed her hat trick in the 18th minute on a goal assisted by Atzert and senior Stephanie Campanaro.

Sophomore Stephanie Toomey's unassisted goal in the 33rd minute gave the Cavaliers a 5-0 lead heading into halftime.
Eight minutes into the second half, Campanaro added a goal to her assist, connecting on a penalty corner pass from sophomore Chelsea Pritchett.

Sophomore Genevieve Paulin and junior Vicky King combined in Cabrini's net for the win.

The Cavalier (11-5) will close their regular season on Thursday, October 27 when they welcome Alvernia University to Edith Robb Dixon Field. The game is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
