RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini College field hockey team recorded its highest offensive output in nearly two years today in defeating Albright College 8-0 today at Edith Robb Dixon Field. The last time the Cavaliers scored seven goals was on October 13, 2009 when they defeated College of Notre Dame (Md.) 7-0.
Senior
Maura Gordon opened the Cabrini scoring in the 8th minute when she connected on a pass from junior
Lindsey Atzert. Ten minutes later, junior
Taylor McGarvey scored her second goal of the season.
The Cavaliers put the game out of reach late in the first half, netting three goals in a three minute span. Senior
Lauren Alessi netted her first goal of the season. One minute later, senior
Stephanie Campanaro scored her first of three on the day. She would score her second two minutes later after a pass from Alessi.
Gordon scored her fourth of the season in the 38th minute. Campanaro completed the hat trick in the 45th minute on a goal assisted by freshman
Karlie Gruccio. Sophomore
Stephanie Toomey closed the scoring in the 53rd minute on a centering pass from senior
Amanda Smith.
Cabrini outshot Albright 14-2 in the victory.
The Cavaliers will visit Neumann University on Saturday, September 17 at 12:00 p.m. to open CSAC play.
