HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. – The Cabrini College men's lacrosse team scored two goals in the final 30 seconds of the game to down Hampden-Sydney College 13-11. The victory snapped Cabrini's two game skid and evened its record at 2-2.

Bobby Thorp and sophomore
Corey Elmer led the Cavaliers with five points each. Thorp and freshman
Damian Sobieski tallied four goals each, while Elmer posted four assists.
Cabrini jumped out to an early lead, scoring three goals in the game's first six minutes. Junior

Anthony DiSanzo found him for his first goal of the season.
Less than one minute later, the Blue and White capitalized on a Hampden-Sydney penalty, as Elmer and Thorp combined for Thorp's first goal of the game. The Cavaliers wasted little time extending their lead, as senior
Brian Hill scored his first of two goals on the day in another man-up situation.
The Tigers got on the board with five minutes left in the opening period. The Cavaliers pushed their lead to 4-1 three minutes into the second quarter when senior
Andrew Zelinski found Thorp for his second goal of the day. After another Tigers goal, Elmer posted his third goal of the year with 5:54 to play before halftime.
Hampden-Sydney tallied consecutive goals before the Blue and White answered. Freshman
Ben Laffoon found Sobieski with 1:30 to play, sending Cabrini to the break with a 7-3 lead.
Elmer and Thorp connected again early in the third period for Thorp's third of the day. The Tigers cut Cabrini's lead down to 8-6 with three goals in less than two minutes. The Cavaliers answered, as sophomore
Matt Biegel and Sobieski recorded goals in the final six minutes of the third period.
The game seemed to be in hand when Hill scored his second goal of the day with just under nine minutes to play, giving the Cavaliers an 11-7 lead. Hampden-Sydney mounted an incredible rally, scoring four goals and tying the score at 11 with 1:17 on the clock.
With 29 seconds on the clock, the Cavaliers capitalized on a Tigers' turnover, as Sobieski gave Cabrini the lead with an unassisted tally. A penalty on the ensuing faceoff gave the Cavaliers another man-up situation. Elmer and Thorp connected for the third time with 17 seconds on the clock sealing the Cavaliers' win.

Brandon Dunn went 7-15 in the faceoff circle and secured five ground balls. Senior
John McSorley and sophomore
Bill McCabe recorded three ground balls each. McSorley also caused a team-high three turnovers.
Cabrini's junior goaltender
Erick Zarzecki posted eight saves and secured three ground balls in the win.
Senior Nate Cundy led the Tigers (1-3) with four goals on just four shots and one assist in the loss.
The Cavaliers will return to Edith Robb Dixon Field on Saturday when they host the Swarthmore College Garnet for a 1:00 p.m. nonconference game.
