RADNOR, Pa. – An early goal put the Cabrini College women's soccer team in a hole out of which they could not climb as the Cavaliers fell to 1-2 on the 2012 season after tonight's 3-0 loss at Edith Robb Dixon Field.
The Eagles jumped on the score board in the fourth minute of the game as senior Kelsey Doutrich scored her first goal of the night. Though they trailed early, the Cavaliers continued to push the offense.
Neither team could grab the game's momentum as the score remained 1-0 after 45 minutes. The teams combined for just six first half shots, just a pair on target.
Cabrini's best scoring opportunity came in the 51st minute as freshman
Dana Peterson rocketed a to the far post, only to be punched away by Eastern goaltender Alysia Goodman.
Eastern had a shot to increase its lead in the 55th minute as senior Amy Thomas' shot slid past Cabrini goaltender

Dana Drake was there for the Cavaliers to knock the ball of the goal line, holding the 1-0 deficit.
The Blue and White would eventually surrender the second goal in the 61st minute. Doutrich drove the left flank and took a shot that deflected off a Cabrini defender into the back of the net.
Eastern put the game away in the 72nd minute as senior Katelyn Rittenhouse's header off a corner kick found the back of the net.
Sophomore
Melissa Scanzano recorded three of Cabrini's six shots on the evening.
Cabrini will return to the pitch on Saturday as they welcome Arcadia University to Edith Robb Dixon Field. The action is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
