GETTYBURG, Pa. – The Cabrini field hockey team needed to battle through Gettysburg College and the weather if it wanted to get its first win of the season today. Ultimately, the Cavaliers succumbed to both, falling to 0-4 after today's 2-0 road loss.
The game remained scoreless until the 20th minute when Gettysburg Kristen Olenick collected a rebound and returned it into the back of Cabrini's net.
Minutes later, the weather would make its presence felt as the game was delayed for over an hour for a lightening delay.
When play resumes, the Bullets were ready, capturing their second goal of the game. Liz Baron found Olenick for her second tally of the game.
While the Cavaliers attempted nine penalty corners to Gettysburg's six, the Bullets claimed a 2-0 lead heading into the halftime break.
Gettysburg continued to control the pace of the game after the break, leading to 16 second half shots. Cabrini's junior goaltender
Genevieve Paulin was up to the task, recording nine saves in the second stanza.

The Cavaliers will host their 2012 home opener on Wednesday when they welcome Delaware Valley College to Edith Robb Dixon Field. The action is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.
