RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini field hockey team opened Colonial States Athletic Conference play today with a resounding 8-1 victory over the visiting Notre Dame (Md.) University Gators. The victory improved the Blue and White to a 3-6 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
The Cavaliers wasted little time taking the lead as freshman
Taylor Mack found senior Eric McLaughlin for the game's first goal just 22 seconds into the action. Mack made her presents felt again in the 4th minute when the rookie found sophomore
Jen Webb, giving the Cavaliers a 2-0 lead.
Webb added a second goal in the 10th minute when she initiated a penalty corner to junior
Karlie Gruccio. Gruccio returned the pass as Webb poked the ball into the net. Fellow sophomore
Kerry Anne Farrell added to the lead in the 17th minute with her seventh tally of the season.

Tori Canelli netted her second career goal in the 22nd minute. Sophomore
Lex Setley added the first of her career in the 27th minute, on an assist from senior
Stephanie Toomey. Sophomore ally Fiorellli's first career tally came in the 34th minute, sending Cabrini into the half with a commanding 7-0 lead.

Meghan Loughman scored the second of her career in the 65th minute off a pass from sophomore

The Blue and White will return to action on Saturday when they visit Scranton, Pa. to face Marywood University. The CSAC action will begin at 11:00 a.m.
