Box Score WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Cabrini men's lacrosse team traveled to Georgetown University to face No. 9 Lynchburg College and returned with a 16-11 victory. The win improved the No. 7 Cavaliers to 3-0, marking the first time since 2009 that the club has opened the season with three consecutive victories.
Junior
Mike Leyden led the way, matching a career high with five points and three goals in the win. Senior
Corey Elmer and juniors
Damian Sobieski and
Anthony DiSanzo added four points each. Sobieski tallied four goals on the day, while Elmer and DiSanzo paired two goals and two assists each.
Freshman goaltender
Hank Altschuler anchored the defensive zone, recording nine saves for his third career win in as many games. Senior
Bill McCabe forced three Hornets turnovers, while fellow senior
JoJo Cooper scooped three ground balls.
Sophomore Austin Stewart led Lynchburg (1-2) with four goals in the loss.
The Blue and White will return to action next Saturday, March 8, when it welcomes Hampden-Sydney College (1-2) to Edith Robb Dixon Field. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
