No. 2 Men's Lacrosse Stays Perfect with 25-4 Win

RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini men's lacrosse team extended its conference win streak to 99 games tonight with a 25-4 win over the visiting Neumann University Knights as Edith Robb Dixon Field.  The victory also improved the No. 2 Cavaliers to 11-0 on the season, including 3-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.

Seventeen Cavaliers recorded at least one point in the win, led by senior Corey Elmer's nine points.  After scoring 13 points on Saturday, the senior added nine points tonight, on four goal and five assists.  The five assists give the senior 101 for his career, making him just the fourth Cavaliers to reach the 100 assist plateau.  Elmer joins Casey Grugan, Tom Lemieux and Paul Skulski as the only Cavaliers to amass 100 goals, 100 assists and 200 points.

Juniors Damian Sobieski and Mike Leyden added five points each, as Sobieski matched a career high with five goals, while Leyden paired a season high four goals and an assist.  Fellow junior Anthony DiSanzo added two goals and an assist in the win.  

Senior Joey Shallow, junior Kevin MacQuilliam and sophomore Evan Allvord tallied two points each, including a combined four goals.  Also among tonight's point scorers were freshman Ryan Hannan, who netted his first career goal, and senior Kyle O'Connorm, who posted his first career point with a fourth quarter assist.

Junior Anthony DiNenno scooped a game-high seven ground balls and won 11-15 faceoff chances.  Elmer and freshman goaltender Austin Marshall corralled four ground balls each.  Senior Bill McCabe and Matt Ward forced three turnovers each.  

Marshall, joined fellow rookie Hank Altschuler and sophomore Chris Treat between Cabrini's pipes to record 10 saves.  Marshal earned the victory, his sixth of the season.

The Cavaliers jumped on the score board early and often, as it opened the scoring less than 60 seconds into the action.  The Blue and White built a 5-0 lead after the opening quarter, a lead that swelled to 13-0 at the half.

Junior Ryan O'Kane led Neumann (3-9, 0-3 CSAC) with two goals, while fellow junior Chris Scott added a goal and two assists.

The Cavaliers will hit the road for a showdown with No. 5 Salisbury (12-1) on Friday night.  The Cavaliers and Sea Gulls will meet at 7:00 p.m. at Sea Gull Stadium in Salisbury, Md.
