Cavaliers Look to Build on Saturday's Victory in Matchup with Rowan

Last Meeting: No. 15 Profs hand Cavaliers 3-0 loss (9/13/2016)
Despite falling behind in the 10th minute, Cabrini held its own with the Profs.  The Cavaliers recorded five first half shots and forced four penalty corners, while holding Rowan to seven shots and six penalty corners.

Aided by three saves from junior goaltender Taylor Bookman and a Sara DeVita defensive save, the Cavaliers continued to trail by just one goal until the 57th minute.  The Profs sealed the victory in the 65th minute, as a scramble in front of the Cabrini goal result in the game's third tally.

Rowan turned up its pressure after the half, outshooting the Blue and White 6-1 in the second half and forcing nine penalty corners after the break.

Despite owning an 8-2 advantage in first half shots, the Cavaliers could not find theback of the net, as the Bullets' goaltender Haley Mowery notched four first half saves.

Gettysburg finally got on the board in the 40th minute, but Cabrini had an answer four minutes later as senior Brittany Smith hit classmate Maddy Worley in the 44th minute to even the score at one.

Gettysburg recorded nine shots and eight penalty corners in the second half.  Led by senior goaltender Taylor Bookman, the Blue and White defense held firm. The Cavaliers fought off two yellow cards in the final 15 minutes of action, including playing nearly four minutes down two players.

Both teams created chances in the seven-on-seven overtime, but Cabrini took advantage of its possession, as senior Jackie Neary collected a loose ball with 2:49 left and beat Mowery to the far post for the win.

Rowan Last Time Out: Quick goals lift Catholic over Rowan (9/9/2017)
Catholic did its damage with in the span of 1:28 seconds. Cardinals' senior Rachel Day finished a one-timer from senior Lizzie Ireland 23:28 into the first half. Less than 90 seconds later freshman Grace Olson was there for the insurance score as she took a centering pass from senior Day and tipped it in for the score.

Cardinals' goalie senior Sophia Hamilton stopped four shots for the shutout.  For the Profs, fellow senior goalie Carly DeMarco had seven saves.

  • The Cavaliers are allowing just 2.25 goals per game in 2017.
  • Worley leads the Blue and White in both goals (3) and shots (10). 
  • Smith's two assists currently have her tied for fourth most in the CSAC.
  • Bookman's 44 saves are the most in the conference, while her .830 save percentage ranks fifth. 
  • The defense for the Blue and White allowed just seven shots on goal in their previous matchup against Gettysburg. 
5 Factors for Rowan
  • Rowan's offense is averaging just 1.31 goals per game on the year, the lowest in the NJAC. 
  • Conversely, their defense is allowing 2.19 goals per game, which is tied for the most in the NJAC. 
  • The Profs will get shots off, however, as they have 61 in four games.
  • Juniors Julie Johnson and Rachel Galante lead the Profs in shots with 18 and 16, respectively. Galante, however has played in just two games.
  • Rowan has 39 penalty corners on the year, the second most in the conference.
