Scouting the Giants
The Giants finished last season as the NCAA national runner-up and naturally had high expectations leading into this season, but have struggled a bit in the early going as they started 6-5 after losing only 11 games in all of 2016.

Keystone is led by skipper Jamie Shevchik who enters his 16th year at the helm. Shevchik has turned the Giants into a regional power that is consistently ranked in the top-20 in the nation and has amassed an overall record of 507-159 (.761%) during his time in the Blue and Orange.

Sebastian De La Cruz is a serious threat to opposing pitchers as the right handed hitter is batting .526 with 12 RBI's in the early going, leading the team in both categories. Expect to see quality pitching from the Giants as well, as four members of their staff own ERA's better than 2.85, headlined by starter Troy Terzi (1.82 ERA).

Cabrini Last Time Out: Defeated Valley Forge 17-7 (3/21/17)
The Blue and White erupted for 17 runs, five doubles and a home run in a 17-7 win over Valley Forge on Tuesday.

Dylan Butler delivered the big blow for the Cavs, as the junior launched a three-run bomb in the bottom of the seventh and finished the day 1-3 with three runs and four RBI's. Casey Plunkett also had a solid game as he finished 3-5 with a double, three runs and one RBI. Josh Breittholz got the start and pitched two effective innings, allowing just one hit, while striking out two.

Keystone Last Time Out: Defeated #25 Kean 6-0 (3/21/17)
After dropping out of the top-25 rankings this week, the Giants had an opportunity to pick up a quality win over 25th ranked Kean University on Tuesday and did just that. The Giants topped Kean by a score of 6-0 thanks in large part to Terzi, who fired a complete game shutout. Terzi allowed just two hits against Kean and picked up seven strikeouts on the day. The junior has logged 29.2 innings in the teams first 11 games, while pitching to the tune of a 1.82 ERA with 31 strikeouts.

5 Factors for Cabrini
  • Home field advantage cannot be overlooked in a tough matchup like this, as the Cavs own a 2-0 record at home.
  • The Cavaliers have committed a conference high 34 errors in 10 games.
  • Butler leads the Cavaliers, and the CSAC, with four home runs. The junior is slugging .824 in the early going.
  • Cabrini's 26 stolen bases are good enough for second in the conference, as they trail only Cairn (38).
  • Keystone has thrown out only one runner on the base paths this season, as opponents are 13-14 in steal attempts.
5 Factors for Keystone
  • The Giants will have momentum on their side as they picked up a win over #25 Kean on Tuesday.
  • Keystone currently ranks second to last in the CSAC in walks allowed (41).
  • Over their last five games, the Giants are allowing an average of just 2.5 runs per game.
  • In those five games, however the Giants have allowed a total of 41 hits.
  • The Giants' pitching staff leads the CSAC in strikeouts with 76.
