Scouting the Highlanders (15-16 overall, 5-13 CSAC)
The Highlanders enter the season's final series after taking two of three games from the Centenary Cyclones, highlighted by their double header sweep (4-1, 3-2) that featured just enough offense and solid pitching from start to finish.

The Highlanders are led offensively by a dynamic trio that includes Aaron Takacs, Nathan Wilson and Jacob Allen. Combined, they have recorded 120 hits, 84 runs, 28 extra base hits, 69 RBI's, 160 total bases and 31 steals.

While Takacs has the highest batting average (.386) and best power numbers (2HR, .546 SLG%), Wilson may be the most dynamic of the bunch. The freshman currently sports a .374 average with 26 RBI's to go along with a .514 slugging percentage and 13 steals. Allen boasts impressive numbers as well as his .363 average and 16 RBI's both rank third, behind only Takacs and Wilson.

On the hill, Cairn is led by Sam Dralle who rankes third on the team in ERA (4.94) but first in innings pitched (51) and strikeouts (49). His 8.6 strikeouts per nine innings are tops on the team and one of the highest ratios in the CSAC.

Cabrini Last Time Out: Lost to Marywood 3-1 (4/29/17)
Andrew Del Giudice went seven strong innings and allowed just six hits and three earned runs, but was saddled with the tough luck loss as the Cavs fell by a 3-1 final.

Neither team managed much offense across the first three innings as Marywood collected two hits, one in the second and third, while the Cavaliers managed just one in the bottom of the first - an infield single from Shaun Stackhouse

The Cavaliers put together a string of hits in the bottom of the sixth and had momentum on their side. After a double from Mikayle Holloway and Norris reaching via a fielders choice, the Cavs had runners on second and third with two outs. Birzes stepped in the box and drove a hard single through the right side to score Holloway with Norris right on his heels; a very close play at home, however resulted in Norris being called out as catcher Jake Shuster applied the tag before Norris could touch home. The play at the plate was the innings final out and seemed to swing momentum back in favor of the Pacers.

A pinch hit single from Gares in the bottom of the seventh would stand as the Cavaliers' final hit as they lost a hard fought game by a final score of 3-1.

Stackhouse (1-2), Birzes (1-2, 1RBI), Gares (1-1) and Holloway (1-1, 1R) provided the offense for the Blue and White in game two. Birzes finished 4-10 with four RBI and one run scored in the three game series against the Pacers.

Cairn Last Time Out: Defeated Centenary University 3-2 (4/29/17)
Dralle was dominant in the Highlanders win over Centenary. The sophomore righty allowed four hits in six scoreless innings of work. He walked five but struck out four to improve his record to 4-4 on the season.

Dralle got some run support early with three runs in the bottom of the first. Josh Field delivered a two-run single down the left field line that plated Takacs and Allen. Three batters later, Keigh LeNoue reached on a fielder's choice to push across a third run and give Cairn a 3-0 lead heading to the second.

Luckily, that was all the offense the Highlanders would need as Centenary's starter settled down to retire 17 of the final 18 batters he faced. The only hit in the final six inning for Cairn came from Josh Field in the third with one away.
