Box Score 4 Auburndale, FL - The Cabrini baseball team capped a five day trip to
Auburndale, FL with a double header split against the University of Pittsburgh - Greensburg this afternoon. In total the Blue and White played seven games against four different opponents as they finished the road trip with 4-3 and improved to 4-5 overall on the young season.
Cabrini vs. Grove City College - Game One (2/26/18)
Cabrini suffered a tough 4-1 loss in their opening game of the spring break trip as Wolverine starter John Bini tossed a complete game two hitter to stymie the Cavaliers' offense.

Steven Priest tallied the Cavs' lone hits, both singles, while freshman
Griffin Hays was saddled with the loss after he went 4.2 innings, allowing six hits and three earned. The freshman also struck out three.
The Wolverines jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first, highlighted by a two RBI double from Matt Dayton.
Cabrini would get on the board in the fifth thanks to a RBI single from Norris that plated sophomore Erick
Vicario. GCC would close the door on the Cavs in the sixth and seventh inning as they tacked on another run to cap the scoring 4-1.
Cabrini vs. Grove City College - Game Two (2/26/18)
The Cavs picked up their first win of the season in the back end of the double header as they used a six run eighth inning to capture the 10-4 victory.
Five different Cavaliers recorded two hits in the extra inning effort, led by
Dylan Butler's two RBI's, one coming via the long ball. Freshman Mack
McKisson and sophomore Shaun
Stackhouse each picked up an RBI of their own.
Stackhouse added two stolen bases and two runs to his stat line for good measure.
Senior Josh
Breittholz tossed five strong innings for the Blue and White as he allowed just four hits and one earned, while striking out two. A three run seventh inning for the Wolverines opened the door for junior transfer Tyler
Ronayne to pick up the victory in 1.2 innings of relief as he struck out three and didn't allow a run.
After GCC scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to even the score at 4 apiece, the Blue and White came roaring back in the top of the eighth as freshman Mack
McKisson led things off with with a single. After a SAC bunt and a walk put runners on first and second, classmate
JD Barrett delivered a RBI double to cut put the Cavs up 5-4.

Joe Aurite ballooned the Cavs' lead to 10-4. Ronayne closed out the game as he induced back-to-back fly out and a strikeout of the Wolverines clean up hitter.
Cabrini vs. St. Mary's University – Minnesota (2/27/18)
In a pitchers dual it was
Corey Hunt that paved the way for the Blue and White in a 3-1 win over St. Mary's University as the freshman tossed 5.1 innings and allowed just one run while striking out two. Classmate
Matt Dobeck came on in relief and was equally as impressive as he logged 3.2 innings and allowed just two hits while striking out three.

Dylan Butler each tallied RBI's and one hit apiece to pace the Cavaliers' offense on the day.
Butler and the Cavs struck first as the senior roped a single to plate sophomore
Tyler Norris for the 1-0 advantage in the fourth inning. Back-to-back singles for Lindeborn and Stackhouse in the fifth pushed the Cavs' lead to 3-0 as that would be all they would need.
As mentioned, Dobeck would shut the door on the Cardinals and preserve the 3-1 lead for the Cavs second win of the season.
Cabrini vs. Augustana College – Game One (3/1/18)
The Vikings cruised to a 10-2 victory over the Cavaliers in game one thanks to strong performance from starter Chris Refka who logged 6.2 innings after being chased in the bottom of the seventh. The righty struck out five while allowing eight hits.

Mack McKisson talled two hits apiece for the Blue and White. Stackhouse picked up the Cavaliers' lone two RBI's coming on a double down the right field line in the bottom of the seventh.

Ray Lutick was saddled with the loss after working three innings and allowing three earned.
Cabrini vs. Augustana College – Game Two (3/1/18)
The Blue and White certainly atoned for their game one performance as they picked up a come from behind 6-5 victory over the Vikings in game two.
The Cavs got off to a fast start thanks to an RBI single from sophomore

Augustana mounted a furious comeback in the fourth and fifth innings as they tacked on five runs to take a 5-2 lead heading into the game's final two frames.
After going down quietly in the sixth, the Blue and White erupted in their final frame for four runs to steal the lead at 6-5. Del Giudice got things rolling with a leadoff homer to cut the deficit to 5-3. After a Kuchera walk and Lindeborn single, Stackhouse roped a one out single to score two and give the Cavs the 6-5 lead.

Tyler Ronayne picked up his first save of the season as he faced just four batters.
Cabrini vs. Pitt Greensburg – Game One (3/2/18)
The Cavaliers fell by a 9-7 final on the last day of their Florida trip to the Pittsburgh-Greensburg Bobcats.
Despite jumping out to a 3-0 lead after the second inning, highlighted by a two run homer from freshman
Mack McKisson, the Cavs couldn't hold off the surging Bobcats as they scored nine runs in the ensuing three innings.
Down 9-4 heading into the fifth inning, junior
John Lindeborn roped a bases clearing double to right center to cut the Bobcats lead to 9-7.
Pitt countered with freshman pitcher Dean Edwards who logged 2.2 innings and didn't allow a hit as he picked up the save and preserved the 9-7 win.
Cabrini vs. Pitt Greensburg – Game Two (3/2/18)
The Blue and White capped their spring break trip in style as they took down the Bobcats by a 15-9 final.
Freshman
Brian Protesto provided the spark as the catcher racked up five RBI's on two hits, highlighted by a three run long ball in the sixth inning to bust the game wide open. Junior

Mack McKisson each collected two RBI's as McKisson totaled three hits on the day. Freshman
Matt Dobeck earned the victory on the bump as he tossed 2.1 innings and allowed two earned.
Cabrini erased an early 2-0 deficit to flip the script and take a 4-2 lead in the third thanks to RBI's from sophomore

Nicholas Gares and Protesto.
After Pitt-Greensburg evened things at four apiece, the Blue and White exploded for seven runs in the fourth and fifth innings to grab a commanding 11-4 lead.
The Bobcats responded with a five spot in the sixth to cut the Cavs' lead to 11-9, but an RBI single from McKisson followed by Protesto's aforementioned three run homer ballooned the Cavs' lead to 15-9.
Cabrini will next face Eastern University in the Battle of Eagle Road on March 7
th at Cabrini Carroll Field. Game time is slated for 3pm.
