Scouting the Wildcats
The Wildcats got off to a fast start in 2018 as they started the 2-0, picking up wins against Lehman College (4-1) and New England College (2-1). A rough patch would ensue, however as Penn College would drop their next five games, being outscored 63 to 17 in the process. Two wins in their next three games would pit them at 4-6 overall as they head into their matchup with Cabrini.

Ben Flicker leads the team in batting average in the early going, hitting a solid .417 with four doubles and five RBI's. Brittan Kittle, a sophomore backstop, has been an on-base machine for Penn College as he has drawn 12 walks in 40 plate appearances and sports a .550 OBP to go along with a .357 average. Kittle also leads the team with two long balls.

The Wildcats boast a trio of pitchers with double digit innings pitched on the year in Cody Nelson (13.2), Max Bair (12.1) and Nathan Holt (10.1). Both Bair (14 K) and Holt (11 K) in particular, average north of a strikeout per inning. Nelson, while not matching the strikeout rate of his staffmates, currently paces the team with a .185 batting average against.

Cabrini Last Time Out: Cavaliers Pick Up 10th Win of the Season Over Haverford (3/29/18)
The Cabrini baseball team secured their 10th victory of the season following an 8-7 final over Haverford College.

Freshman reliever Matt Dobeck earned the victory, the first of his collegiate career, after tossing 2.1 innings. Junior Tyler Ronayne shut the door on the Haverford offense for his second save of the year after 1.1 innings in which he struck out one.

Freshman Griffin Hays got the start and threw four efficient innings, facing just four over the minimum and striking out one.

Classmate JD Barrett paced the Cavalier offense as he finished 2-3 with two doubles, two runs and two RBI's. Senior Dylan Butler collected his 12th and 13th RBI's on the year after going 1-3, while sophomore Joe Aurite collected his first long ball of the season with a solo shot to left.

Penn College Last Time Out: Wildcats Top LVC 7-3 in Game Two of Double Header (3/25/18)
Penn College jumped out to a 6-0 lead after two innings thanks to a two-out rally. Alex Zeigler brought home two runs with a single to right and Cody Cline's single to center plated Zelger to make it 4-0. Flicker's double to right scored Cline before an error plated the sixth run for Penn College.

That would be all the support starter Max Bair would need as the rookie tossed six strong innings, allowing just five hits and one earned, while striking out three to earn his first victory of the season.
