Scouting the Hawks
Hilbert enters Sunday's matchup having just completed their spring break trip in which they played eight games in five days. The Hawks finished the trip with a 2-6 record, highlighted by a pair of one run victories over Wentworth Institute of Technology.Â
Tristan Aldinger leads the Hilbert offense with a .353 average and a .529 slugging percentage. The outfielder has tallied nine total bases, including a double and triple, in just 17 at bats. Catcher Austin O'Shei leads the team with 1.007 OPS and three stolen bases.Â
Pitcher Anthony DiNizo hasn't allowed an earned run through 3.2 innings of work and has limited opposing offenses to just a pair of hits, while striking out three. Veteran Michael Goodberry has been solid on the bump as well, as the righty has logged four innings and allowed one earned run. Goodberry has tallied three strikeouts and is the only pitcher on the staff to not issue a free pass.Â
Entering the program's ninth year, Hilbert has seen steady improvement over the last two seasons since head coach Drew Fittry entered the fray. The Hawks played to an 8-24 record in Fittry's first season, but added three wins last year as they finished with an 11-24 record. The Hawks will be aiming for their first 12 win season in their program's short history in Fittry's third season at the helm.Â
Cabrini Last Time Out: Cabrini 0, Hanover 2 (3/2/19)
The Blue and White rallied in the top of the ninth as they put runners on second and third with only one out, but Hanover reliever George Dant escaped trouble as recorded the final two batters he faced, including a strike out for the final out of the game.Â

The Panthers' Zach Chapman countered Jackson for six innings and collected with win after allowing just three hits. Dent and fellow reliever Eli Copner combined for three shutout innings and five strikeouts, while allowing just three hits.Â
FreshmanÂ
Garrett Laraia paced the Cavalier offense with a pair of hits, while sophomore's Mack Mckisson,Â
JD Barrett andÂ
Brendan Van Belle, along with juniorÂ
Henry Peguero, collected one hit a piece.Â
The offense had their opportunities throughout the game as they left 12 men on base, compared to Hanover's five left on base.Â

The Hawks found themselves down by five runs by the time they picked up their bats in the bottom of the 3rd. Hilbert inched their way back, scoring seven runs through the next three innings but still trailed, 8-7 at the top of the 6th.
