What's At Stake
The No. 1 seeded Cavaliers will kick off the First Round (Pod A) of the Atlantic East Conference Baseball Tournament on Friday morning at 9am when they host No. 6 Wesley College. The Wolverines will face a quick turnaround when they face No. 4 Immaculata University at 12:30pm. Cabrini and Immaculata will conclude the day's games with a 4pm nightcap.Â
If the Cavaliers win both games, they will be in prime position to advance to next weekend's Final Round as they will need to take just one more game against the winner of Immaculata and Wesley.Â
If all three teams finish day one with a 1-1 record, then Immaculata and Wesley will rematch at 11am on Saturday and the Diamond Cavs will face the winner of that game in a decisive game five. The winner of Pod A will face the winner of Pod B in next weekend's aforementioned best-of-three Final Round. Pod B consists of No. 2 seeded Gwynedd Mercy University, No. 3 seeded Marymount University and No. 5 seeded Neumann University.Â
Cabrini vs. Wesley Last Meeting: Cabrini 21, Wesley 9 (3/23/2019, Dover, DE)
The offense delivered a dominant performance in the night cap as they totaled a then season best 22 hits, resulting in 21 runs.Â
JuniorÂ
Joe Aurite was the key cog in game two as the second baseman finished 3-4 with four runs and a career best six RBI's, highlighted by a pair of home runs. Moyer collected a team best and career high four hits, including three runs, two RBI's and two stolen bases.Â
McKisson tallied three hits and two RBI's, while six additional Cavs collected two hits a piece. SophomoreÂ
Steven Priest finished with three RBI's to highlight the bunch.Â
FreshmanÂ
Mike Gama earned the victory in relief of junior starterÂ
Drew Jackson after being removed in the second inning. Gama tossed two perfect innings and struck out four for his first victory of the year.Â
The offense again started quickly as the Cavs struck for eight runs in the first three innings, but the Wolverines answered with three runs in the bottom of the second and another in the third to cut their deficit to 8-4.
After an RBI single from Moyer, followed by an RBI walk from Barrett to take a 10-4 lead, Wesley again answered as they pushed across four runs in the bottom half of the frame to trim the Cavs' lead to 10-8.Â
The Blue and White would put the game out of reach thanks to a four run top of the fifth, followed by a seven run top of the seventh to expand their lead to a sizable 21-8 advantage. Another late run from Wesley would cap the game's scoring in the bottom of the eighth.Â
Cabrini vs. Immaculata Last Meeting: Cabrini 13, Immaculata 6 (4/28/2019, Radnor, PA)
The Cavaliers yielded just three runs through the first eight frames as freshmanÂ
Jonathan Baker, sophomoreÂ
Ray Lutick and freshmanÂ
Mike Gama combined to allow just eight hits and strike out seven. Baker earned the start and turned in 4.1 innings, making just one mistake that ended in a three run home run.Â
Lutick came on in relief and secured the victory, his fifth of the season, after 2.2 innings and one hit.Â
Offensively the Blue and White were led by freshmanÂ
Brandon Loner after finishing 2-5, including a double, with three RBI's. SeniorÂ
Tyler Norris matched Loner's three RBI's while also smashing his team leading fifth homerun of the season. FreshmanÂ
Garrett Laraia, sophomoreÂ
Brendan Van Belleand juniorÂ
Henry Peguero rounded out the Cavs with multi-hit days as each tallied a pair of hits.Â
Cabrini opened up the scoring in the bottom of the first after sophomoreÂ
Mack McKisson, Laraia and Van Belle loaded the bases forÂ
JD Barrett. The sophomore worked a walk to force home the game's first run. Loner follwed with a double over the head of the center fielder to put the Cavs up 3-0, while Norris capped the scoring courtesy of a sac fly to plate Barrett.Â
After the Diamond Cavs pushed the score to 5-0 after the second inning, Immaculata trimmed their deficit to 5-3 thanks to Tom Prato's aforementioned three run homerun. The Blue and White would get one run back in the bottom of the third, however, thanks to an RBI double from Peguero to score juniorÂ

The Cavs would put the game away in the middle innings as they scored two in the fifth, four in the sixth and one in the seventh to balloon their lead to 13-3. Norris' fifth homerun of the year highlighted the Cavalier run.Â
Wesley vs. Immaculata Last Meeting: Immaculata 9, Wesley 7 (4/18/2019, Immaculata, PA)
The Wolverines had their opportunities to complete the comback against the hosting Mighty Macs, but left 14 runners on base in an eventual 9-7 final.Â
Wasley was led offensively by John Joines who finished with a game high four hits. He added two runs and an RBI. Alexander Weber delivered a team best two RBI's for the visitors, while Jordan Marucci smaked the Wolverines only extra base hit with a double.Â
Joey Strazza was saddled with the loss after coming on in relief and allowing four runs (two earned) in a third of an inning.Â
The Mighty Macs received a strong start from Gabe Hollenbac who tossed 5.2 innings of three run ball and scattered 10 hits.Â
Offensively, Immaculata was paced by Dominac Dellabarb who finished 2-3 with three runs. Tyler Kmiec also scored three times, while Ryan Fontanilli drove in a pair.Â

Wesley Last Time Out: Wesley 10, Marywood 2Â (4/27/2019, Dover, DE)
Marywood scored their only runs of the game in the third inning thanks to a Trevor Powers' single to center field. The base knock briefly gave the Pacers a 2-1 advantage.Â
A pair of RBI singles from Jason Boc and William Foster quickly handed the lead back to the Wolverines at 3-2.Â
John Joines doubled Wesley's lead in the fourth inning courtesy of a two-out single up the middle to plate Dustin Sutton. Wesley pushed their lead to five runs at 7-2 in the fifth inning, highlighted by a bit of small ball Cory Joines. The sophomore executed a perfect squeeze bunt to score Boc from third.Â
Immaculata Last Time Out: : Keystone 13, Immaculata 9 (4/20/2019, La Plume, PA)
Tom Prato finished 2-5 with an RBI an a run scored. Ryan Fontanilli tied Prato with two hits and tallied a team high two RBI's to lead the Mighty Macs.Â
Prato's RBI knock was part of a seven-run ninth inning for the Macs, but the comeback effort came up just short to the Giants as Immaculata dropped its regular season finale, 13-9.
The Mighty Macs trailed 13-1 through four but rallied for eight unanswered runs from the seventh inning on to make it a game late.Â
Richard Fontanillas andÂ
Ty Esenwein each doubled and drove in a pair of runs in the non-conference defeat.
