Last Meeting: Cabrini 7, Gwynedd Mercy 6 (3/16/19)
The night cap of the double header featured all the dramatics of game one and then some, as the two teams needed 13 innings to decide a winner.Â
JuniorÂ
Joe Aurite tallied a team high three hits in game two, but it was classmateÂ
Chris Santana that delivered the biggest blow. The Reading, PA native crushed a game tying two run home run in the bottom of the ninth to send the teams into extra innings.Â
FreshmanÂ
Joey Moyer came on to pinch hit to lead off the bottom of the ninth and worked out a walk to immediately put pressure on Griffins' reliever Cameron Culver. With one out, Santana stepped in the batters box and ambushed a first pitch fastball to tie the game with one swing of the bat. Cabrini would threaten as sophomore
Mack McKisson and juniorÂ
Shaun Stackhouse reached first and second base, respectively, but new Griffins' reliever Matt Pallotta would escape trouble after retiring sophomoreÂ
Steven Priest for the final out.Â
A clean 12th and top of the 13th gave way to the bottom of the 13th where the Cavaliers would net their second walkoff of the day. A key leadoff double from Stackhouse ignited the Cavalier rally as the Griffins voted to intentionally walk McKisson.
 With two outs, sophomore
Brian Protesto stepped in the batters box and delivered the biggest hit of his young career with a single to right center to plate Stackhouse and hand the Cavs their second walkoff in as many games.Â
Cabrini Last Time Out: Cabrini 5, Swarthmore 11 (5/8/19)
FreshmanÂ
Joey Moyer and sophomoreÂ
Brendan Van Belle paced the offense as each finished with two hits and an RBI. SophomoreÂ
Mack McKisson, seniorÂ
Tyler Norris and freshmanÂ
Brandon Loner rounded out the Cavaliers with hits as each tallied one apiece.Â
SophomoreÂ
Corey Hunt suffered his first loss of the season after allowing eight hits and five earned in three innings of work. It also marked just the second appearance all season in which Hunt did not record a strikeout. ClassmateÂ
Drew Swire, freshmanÂ
Mike Gama, and junior'sÂ
Drew JacksonandÂ
Ivan Varela combined for the final six innings of work.Â
Swarthmore's Ryan Warm earned the victory for the Garnet after coming on in relief of starter Oliver Hicks. Warm totaled 4.2 innings and allowed just three hits, while striking out six.Â
Gwynedd Mercy Last Time Out: Gwynedd Mercy 19, Marymount 9Â (5/4/19)
A game that saw 33 hits, 28 runs, 17 pitchers and lasted just short of four hours was well worth it for the Griffins, who had to win once on Saturday (after going 2-0 on Friday) to advance to the championship series starting on Friday. The Saints, however, did not go down without a fight.
Tied at 9-9 entering the bottom half of the seventh, Gwynedd turned it on, scoring 10 runs in the frame to grab the lead for good.
Sachael Sciarretta continued to haunt Marymount as the senior went 3-for-6 with three RBIs and three runs scored. Nick Mulvey knocked in four runs, going 3-for-6, while Ryan Keen
 homered and walked twice.
