Scouting the Profs
Rowan capped their 2019 schedule with a strong 32-13 overall record, including a 14-4 mark in NJAC, and advanced to the NCAA Regional where they ultimately fell in double elimination to Washington and Jefferson College.
Fast forward to the 2020 season, the Profs look to pick up where they left off as they enter Saturday's matchup as the No. 23 ranked team in the country, according to D3Baseball.com.
Rowan opened the season with a tight 1-0 victory over Stevens Tech and topped regional opponent Immaculata University on Thursday by way of a 4-0 final. Rowan's pitchers have also combined for 18 strikeouts in their two games, led by Drew Ryback's 11 K's in 12 innings pitched.
Offensively, the Profs have struggled out of the gate, despite the 2-0 start. Rowan hitters have posted a team batting average of .137, including just one extra base hit, while striking out 18 times. Trip McCaffrey has paced the offense in the early going with a .333/.429/.667 triple slash and has logged the team's only extra base hit via a triple.
