Junior men’s lacrosse student-athlete Evan Downey has been named the CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the Week, for the week ending Sunday, April 3.
Last week, Downey led the Cavaliers to a 2-0 week, as the Blue and White earned a pair of victories over Neumann and Keystone.
Downey scored a pair of goals and added two assists and five ground balls in Wednesday’s 27-1 win over the Knights. In Saturday’s 25-3 win over the Giants, the junior netted four goals and collected one ground ball.
Downey ranks second on the Cavaliers with 19 goals and 24 ground balls and is third in points with 27 and eight assists.
In the Colonial States Athletic Conference, Downey is tied for fourth in goals and his 27 points are tied for sixth.
The No. 14 Cabrini men’s lacrosse team (7-3, 2-0 CSAC) travels to Gwynedd Valley, Pa. on Wednesday, where the Cavaliers face Gwynedd Mercy (5-3, 2-0 CSAC) in a CSAC matchup under the lights at 7 p.m.
