RADNOR, Pa. – Senior women's basketball student-athlete Amber Keys has been named the CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, November 30.
Keys played a large part in her team’s 56-51 win over the Albright College Lions last week, in the club's only action. The senior had a career day as she scored 21 points, while adding a career high 19 rebounds and five blocked shots.
Keys hit a clutch free throw down the stretch to put Cabrini on top with 44 seconds left to play and grabbed her 19th rebound the next possession that led to a Dana Peterson layup that eventually iced the win.
Through four games, Keys ranks fourth in the CSAC in scoring with 15.5 points, while her 14.0 rebounds are second in the league. The senior has also been a force on the defensive end, as she is tied for second in the conference with 1.8 blocked shots per game.
Keys and the Cavaliers (2-2) will open CSAC play on Wednesday, as they travel to Gwynedd Mercy (2-2, 1-0 CSAC). Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
