Men’s lacrosse junior Corey Elmer has been named CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, April 6. Elmer posted a record setting performance in Cabrini’s 18-8 victory at Marywood on Saturday.
Elmer etched his name in the Cabrini history book, as the senior tallied a record 13 points in the win. Elmer also tied program records with seven goals and six assists in the win. Elmer's 13 points give him 209 for his career, making him just the seventh player in program history to surpass the 200 career point plateau. He now stands sixth on Cabrini's all-time points, fourth in goals with 113 and fourth in assist with 96.
Elmer has established himself as one of the nation’s top scorers. The senior has totaled 62 points on 34 goals and 28 assists this season. He currently ranks third in the country with 6.2 points per game. His 2.8 assists per outing rank sixth, while his 3.4 goals per game are 14th. Elmer is also second on the team with 28 ground balls.
Elmer and the No. 2 Cavaliers (10-0, 2-0 CSAC) will return to the field on Wednesday when they welcome the Neumann University Knights (3-8, 0-2 CSAC) to Edith Robb Dixon Field for a 6:30 CSAC tilt.
