Cabrini University Athletics

Freshman swimmer Evan Strickland has been named CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, November 20. 

Strickland recorded three more wins in Cabrini’s 154-78 home loss to Albright College on Thursday.  The rookie tallied wins in the 100-yard butterfly (54.47), the 100-yard freestyle (49.86) and the 100-yard individual medley.  Strickland was also part of Cabrini’s 200-yard freestyle team that finished with a time of 1:38.85.

In just five meets, Strickland has notched eight individual race victories. He has also recorded three second or third place finishes on the year. 

Two of his times are listed among the best in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate conference this season.  His time in the 100-yard butterfly (54.87) is the fasted in the event this year, while his time of 2:08.87 in the 200-yard individual medley ranks third.   

The Cavaliers will return to the pool on Wednesday, November 30 when they face Arcadia University and Bryn Mawr College in a tri-meet.  The action is scheduled to get underway at 6:00 p.m. at Bryn Mawr’s Bern Schwartz Fitness and Athletic Center.
