Junior swimmer Todd Walker has been named the CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the Week, for the week ending Sunday, November 22.
Walker led the Cavaliers to a fourth place finish at last weekend's Swarthmore College Invitational.
On Friday, Walker earned a time of 4:59.15 in the 500 yard freestyle, good for a fifth place finish and a new program record, as the junior broke Kyle Teliszewski's record time of 5:04.95 set back in 2011.
Â
Walker continued his record setting weekend on Saturday, breaking his second program record in as many days with a 2:02.66 performance in the 200 yard butterfly, cutting nearly four seconds off his own record.
Â
The junior almost broke the school's 200 yard backstroke mark, as his third place finish in 1:59.94 was just 0.4 seconds off record pace. Walker also added a fourth place finish in the 100 yard butterfly, reaching the wall in 54.84 seconds.
Walker and the Cavaliers men's swim team will take a short break from competition, as it will head to Penn State-Altoona on Dec. 5 for an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference showdown.
