RADNOR, Pa. – Senior women’s lacrosse student-athlete Melissa Scanzano has been named the CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the Week, for the week ending Sunday, May 10.
Scanzano tallied a goal, three assists, five ground balls and a season high five caused turnovers in Cabrini's NCAA Tournament First Round loss to FDU-College at Florham.
On the season, Scanzano led the Cavaliers with 27 assists, while her 71 points and 44 goals were good for second. The senior also ranks in the top ten in the Colonial States Athletic Conference in assists and caused turnovers per game.
With Saturday's four points, the senior became the fifth Cavalier to surpass 250 career points. Scanzano closes her career with 191 career goals, tied for fifth in program history, and 62 assists. She also accounted for 187 ground balls and 134 caused turnovers.
The first round loss ended Cabrini’s season with a final record of 14-6 overall, including 9-0 in conference action, and ended the careers of Scanzano and 9 other Cavaliers.
