Sophomore men's basketball student-athlete Tyheim Monroe has been named the CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the Week, for the week ending Sunday, January 10.

Last week, Monroe made a name for himself nationally, as the sophomore was named the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Men's Player of the Week.

Through three games last week, Monroe averaged 21 points, 17 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.3 blocks while shooting 59 percent (23-39) from the field with three double-doubles in leading Cabrini to a 3-0 week.

Monroe filled the boxscore in Tuesday's 95-83 win against the Cairn Highlanders, totaling 21 points, 12 rebounds, two blocks and one steal.

Two days later, the sophomore recorded a career high 28 points on 10-15 from the field, 21 rebounds, two steals and one block in the 80-72 win at Keystone.

On Saturday, Monroe closed the week strong with a 14 point, 18 rebound and six assist performance, helping his team capture a 70-64 win over the Centenary Cyclones.

On the season, Monroe leads the Cavaliers and ranks fifth in the Colonial States Athletic Conference with 17.3 points per game. The sophomore leads the nation with 14.6 rebounds per game and 12 double-doubles, while his 175 total rebounds, 5.17 offensive rebounds and 9.42 defensive boards are second in the nation.
