Sophomore women’s basketball student-athlete Annie Rivituso has been named CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February 12. 

Rivituso helped the Cavaliers extend their win streak to four games with wins at Neumann University and at home over Philadelphia Biblical University.

In Wednesday’s 80-52 win at Neumann, Rivituso tallied 13 points on 5-8 shooting and 3-4 from the free throw line.  The sophomore grabbed a game-high nine rebounds, including four on the offensive glass.  Rivituso also handed out three assists in her 23 minutes of action.

The elementary education major followed that performance with a nine point, five rebound outing in Saturday’s 79-63 win over Philadelphia Biblical University.  Rivituso connected on 5-7 free throw attempts in 20 minutes on the floor.

Rivituso is currently tied for third on the team in scoring with 6.9 points per game, while shooting 45.4% from the field.  Rivituso also leads the club with 5.2 rebounds per game and just south of one blocked shot per game.  

The Cavaliers enter their final regular season game of the year as one of the hottest teams in the Colonial states Athletic Conference.   The Blue and White will travel to Gwynedd-Mercy to face the Griffins on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.

Cabrini will wait until the completion of Wednesday’s games to learn their postseason fate.  The Cavaliers will open the 2012 CSAC Tournament on Monday night at a location to be determined.
